While this anniversary post is a bit late, but the new iteration of AniBlogTracker finally turns 1-year-old. The original AniBlogTracker suddenly went away in early May 2025. Since there is a demand for a place for people to discover content in the Aniblogosphere, I took up rebuilding the backend and frontend, which took one month. At present, the fundamental features of AniBlogTracker are back online, such as gathering new posts from the AniBlogosphere, listing sites and anime titles with associated blog content, and offering search functionality.
So why is AniBlogTracker important? The normal web is full of AI-generated content and bots, so this is part of the independent web. As social networks and things like Reddit continues to enshittify, it’s more important to rebuild what the internet used to be in the early 2000s and 2010s, and bring back human-made websites, blogs, forums, and communities that most left behind with the shift to centralized social networking and forum communities like Reddit. AniBlogTracker is one tool to make it easier for Japanese media fans to discover independently run blogs.
How do I start my anime blog?
I wrote a post several years back on how to start your own in a post several years back. We offer a turnkey solution at Yoshino Garden, but of course there are several services that provide blog hosting.
After a few months, you can have your blog added, which you can do by creating a ticket.
